Coming Home!

Welcome Home Jakob!

First we had a bath at the hospital and then got dressed to come home in super cold weather. Then we headed on the 100 mile journey home through a little snow storm. He did great and slept the whole way. His big sister was very excited to see us and meet her baby brother.

Meeting Big Sister!

Emma is a great big sister! She loves to help with him and loves to hold him. She is always giving him hugs and kisses.

Emma's Christmas Program

Last Wednesday Emma had her Christmas program for preschool. What a show! It was so adorable! Her age did the Nativity and Emma was the Angel Gabriel. She had a big part and she did such a good job! She stood in the front and sang songs. She also had the job to bring Mary and Joseph to the stage. She was such a little actress. The pictures do not do her performance justice. She had so much fun and it was so much fun to watch!

Introducing . . .

Our Sweet Baby Boy!!!
Jakob David
December 20, 2013
8:25am
8lbs
20.5 inches

Isn't he cute! I love his dark black hair. He is such a cuddly baby and loves to be held. The surgery went well.  We are so blessed and happy to have a super healthy baby boy! He loves to be warm. He gets fussy and the nurses will wrap heated blankets all around him. We were the only ones in the hospital so we were spoiled and had lots of care. Jakob had some visitors. Of course, Grandpa and Grandma Wilhelm, Uncle Nathan, and the Cauffman family. It was great to have people come and visit us.

School Picture

Here is Emma's school picture. I think it turned out super cute! It did not scan well. So, that is why it is positioned funny.

Ward Christmas Party!

We had a weekend full of Christmas parties. Saturday night was our ward's Christmas party. Emma was a donkey in the nativity and then it was Santa time! I knew she was enjoying the desert, when she made everyone laugh, by telling me "Mommy there's a party in my tummy."

The day after the party I asked Emma if she had fun talking to Santa. She said, "yeah, but I don't think he was the real Santa." I said why? Then, she said, because his mustache wasn't real." She has always been very observant and does not miss much. I told her that he was one of Santa's helpers and she seemed fine with that.

Emma and her friend Kate. I kept trying to get a good one, but Kate liked to blink.

Here she is being a Mama cheetah. She loves Cheetahs. She asked Santa for a BIG stuffed Mama cheetah.

Sinclair Christmas Party

Robert had his work Christmas party tonight. Sinclair put on quite the shin-dig! There were over 700 people in attendance. When we got there it was super packed, but we were able to find some seats next to our neighbors and some friends from our ward. We had appetizers and salad, some of the leaders of the company spoke, then they served dinner. After that we got our picture taken, had dessert, and a band from Texas started to play. I guess it was Clint Black's brother's band. No dancing for us though. We stayed for a few songs and then decided to head home. Sinclair spoiled us by sending us home with Christmas ornaments, a ham, a box of chocolates, and 50 bucks! I also won our table centerpiece. Pretty fun! Emma had a great time playing at a friend's house while we were at the party. I wish I would've taken more pictures, but I loved that I was able to see and talk to a lot of friends that I haven't seen in quite a few weeks with the pregnancy and resting.

Quick Baby Update

My pregnancy has been going pretty good. Last Friday we ended up in the hospital for the day with false labor. What a day! The contractions finally stopped, but it wasn't too fun. Since then I've just had the normal Braxton hicks. I went to the doctor yesterday feeling pretty good. My blood pressure was surprisingly higher than it has ever been at that office. Not scary high, but it caused a little concern. The doctor talked about moving my C-section up. He did some lab work and I got the call today that everything looked stable. So, now I just have to go back on Monday for another check-up. They monitor the baby by doing a non-stress test. He is always doing great! So, for now Friday is still the plan, but really any day could be the day. Here is a fun pregnant picture.  I don't love these, but Robert think it will be good to have. I look at this and think, Oh my goodness!

Our Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend. It was pretty low key. Thanksgiving was spent watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and starting to put up our Christmas tree. Then we went to our friends the Sulzs for dinner. Emma had so much fun playing with her friends, the food was great, and we had a great time with our friends. We played games, chatted, and had some yummy pie.

On Friday we put up more Christmas decorations and went to see Frozen. It was such a cute movie. Emma loved it and we had a great time! We also went Shopko and did a little Black Friday shopping. Saturday and Sunday I wasn't feeling very well so I did a lot of resting while Emma and Robert did things around the house.

It was a great Thanksgiving!
