New Year's

On New Year's Eve we headed to Colorado for one last little trip until after the baby is here. We went shopping in Fort Collins and then headed down to Colorado Springs to see some friends there. We had fun shopping and then we surprised Emma with a quick trip to the American Girl store. She was so excited. She got one of her doll's hair done and loved looking at everything!

Then we went to see our good friends from college Tim and Arya Jones. It was so fun to see them. We had dinner at Old Chicago which was a little crazy because they forgot half our meals and drinks. Then we went back and hung out and talked until midnight! We took these pictures at midnight. We were just a little tired!

At the hotel right before bed. We were so tired!

The next day we made our way home. The day after that Robert had off so we spent most of the day putting all the Christmas decorations away. Now it's time to get ready for baby! My surgery is scheduled for February 3rd!

Day After Christmas

This was Robert's last day off so we wanted it to be a relaxing fun day. We had lunch at Denny's where the kids got some fun reindeer cups. Then we played games and legos for the afternoon.

Emma is working on her battleship skills.

Our Christmas card for the year.

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning was full of fun and busyness. Of course Emma woke up first. She was excited to find her presents from Santa while we waited for Jakob to wake up. She got and American Girl car and lego set from Santa. Then she opened up her American Girl doll from Grandma and Grandpa. She was very excited because that was the one thing she really wanted.

Then Jakob woke up. Santa brought him a ride on tractor. That he loved so much he wouldn't get off of all day.

We had church at 9am so we waited to open presents until after we got home.

This was our attempt at a family picture while Jakob threw a fit because he had to get off his tractor.

Present Time!

We had our friends the Evans over for dinner that night. I completely forgot to take pictures other than Emma helping me make punch. We had a great Christmas with friends and each other.

Christmas Eve!

We had a nice Christmas Eve as a family. We had pizza for dinner. Emma really likes acting out the Nativity so we kept the tradition alive this year as best we could. Jakob had a hard time getting into it, but he liked his costume. Then Christmas jammies and off to bed before Santa comes.

Christmas Break Fun!

It seemed like we were pretty busy the week before Christmas. We delivered goody bags to friends and neighbors. Did some last minute shopping. Wrapped a lot of presents, and send out Christmas cards. We also made time to bake Christmas cookies and Emma and I got our nails done!

Decorating was fun for a few minutes and then they got bored, but we enjoyed the fun tradition!

Jakob turns 3!

I can't believe this little boy of mine is 3 years old already! It feels like yesterday he was just my little baby! He had a great birthday!
First, he slept in for a long time!

Then when he woke up he was so excited to come out and see all of his presents including his motorized tricycle!

Then we made Mickey Mouse cupcakes.

This little boy loves the pool! So of course we had to go swimming!

Then home for cupcakes! He was pretty tired at this point of the day. He loved having us all home to celebrate with him! He loves having his sister by his side!

Jakob
Jakob is doing so much now that he is 3! He is almost potty trained. We just started working on it right before his birthday. He is talking more and more but is still a little behind in his language so he is getting speech therapy at preschool. He is going 3 days a week now. He loves to play with tools, cars, balls, and legos. His new love is now his nerf guns. He loves his sister and his Dad, mom is ok too when Daddy or Emma are not available. He is not a big eater, but he loves cereal, milk, apple juice, apples, and carrots. He loves all of his friends around our neighborhood. He loves to play with other kids. Jakob wasn't super excited about school, but he is getting used to it and liking it more and  more. The problem is that he is really not a morning person. He wants to stay in his jammies and watch shows all morning. He is our super cute, loving, fun, little boy!
