2016 Pictures!

We took the kids to fotolfy again this year and they did not disappoint! I love getting great pictures of my kids! Here is an update on both of them. Emma is almost 7 and Jakob is a little over 2.

Emma
Emma is my spunky loving fun little girl. She loves her friends and is super social. She still loves her stuffed animals and is always wanting more. She is exceling in school and is becoming an excellent reader. She loves her dance class. She loves her family and is always excited when we get to see any of our extended family. She is always ready for a good time and loves to have fun. Emma can be stubborn at times and loves to have things her way, but I think it can be a blessing because she can be more of a leader than a follower. She doesn't always do something just because her friend wants her to do it even if it makes her friend mad. I'm proud of her for that. She loves lots of attention from Mama and Daddy. We like to take her on dates and she is still such a snuggler! We sure love her!

Jakob

Oh this kid! He is quite the 2 year old. He loves to snuggle and play with his sister. He has quite the temper and will hit and throw things when he gets mad which results in timeouts in the corner. He is doing better with his timeouts and will stay in the corner. He is still a little behind in his talking but he is getting there. He can now say:
Mama
Dada
Emma
Sissy
No
Uh-huh
Uh-Oh
balloon
Night (for night-night)
bye
hewo (hello pretending to answer the phone)
Set Go! (After we say ready)
Du (ducky)
more

He signs:
more
car
duck
milk
drink
eat
blocks

Jakob loves to play with cars, trucks, balls, and of course his tools. He loves to his tools and is always "fixing" stuff around the house.  He loves anything with buttons or toys that make noise. He is not a great sleeper. He usually wakes up once a night. He has had a harder time ever since we moved to the new house. His favorite thing in the world is his "ducky". He gets so excited every time he sees it. He loves to snuggle especially when he's tired. Jakob loves to play with his sister and they are the best of friends. He loves to hold her hand when they ride in the car. He is not a morning person and only wants me in the morning. Lately he does not like Emma to come near him until he wakes up a little bit.  He loves his shows like Chugginton, Handy Manny, and Bob the Builder. He loves other kids and is starting to become social and like playing with them. He gives very gentle hug and kisses to babies. It's so sweet! His good little friend is Covington and they love playing together. Jakob is attached to me but he LOVES when his DaDa comes home! If he thinks he hears Daddy's truck. He points to the door and says "Da, Da?" As soon as he sees Robert he runs up to him and yells Da! Da! He loves Robert to throw him as high as he can in the air! Just like his sister he is an easy kid to love!  He is a great kid and we sure love having him in our family!

So cute!

Riding in their car on a beautiful Spring Day!

It has been so fun living here because we have all kinds of neighbor kids around to play with. Their newest venture is roller blades! The Willden family next door surprised Emma with a early birthday present and got her some roller blades. They are having so much fun!

Poor Jakob is trying to smile as Robert is cutting his hair. What a cutie!

Friends, Trips, and Temples

In February we had the opportunity to visit our friends the Waltons twice! We went to visit them and go to the temple. We also got the kids pictures taken, and Emma lost one of her front teeth! Ashley took me and her sister Hilary to lunch for my birthday at Zuppas. So fun and so good! I was able to do a tiny bit of shopping at the mall. Robert was able to go to the Payson temple, but I came down with a bad cold so I didn't go.

Emma and Elyse!
Two cuties!

Then . . . a couple weeks later. We went back for a really quick trip so we could go to the Provo City Center temple open house!

And . . . Emma lost another tooth. Ashley is an expert at pulling out teeth!

Birthday Mama!!!

I had a great birthday this year! We went to lunch, Emma and I got pedicures and had a fun evening together!  Emma loved getting her first pedicure! She even picked out black nail polish to match her favorite movie Malificent!  I even got one of my favorite Woodwick candles from my loves. I also got a season of DVDs from my favorite show Heartland and and a new set of dishes!

Crazy January!

January has been crazy!!! I thought we would have a nice calm month after the holidays, but not so. It's been crazy insane weather, crazy sick, trying to unpack, family visiting. Crazy good and crazy chaotic, but mostly it was fun!

They love to snuggle together in the morning.

Jakob helping Daddy shovel when we had just a little bit of snow.

They love to hold hands in the car!

Jakob has had a hard time sleeping in his new room. He also got strep and an ear infection at the end of January and then gave it to me. It was a rough few days.

Grammy came to visit! They started out with a laundry fight! Then played games and had tons of fun.

Jakob loves to be thrown in the air! He asks for it all day!

We have had terrible weather! We got a huge snow storm; lots of wind and snow, about 10 inches. Then it's been wind, wind, wind. There are drifts so high you can no longer see people's fences. Emma had her first snow day the day after the storm because there was so much snow. We couldn't even get down our street. The roads are still awful. I got stuck the other day just driving down the street taking the kids to school. It's been crazy and I'm excited for warmer weather! Emma was playing with neighborhood friends in the snow most of the day but I forgot to get pictures of her. Here is Jakob standing in the snow but he wasn't too thrilled about it. It was really cold!

Grammy got to say a couple extra days with us because the weather was so bad. We took her to Casper to the airport on Saturday and the roads were awful! There were times all I could see was white. It was so good to have my mom here. She helped me decorate my house and get things settled in. Lots of busyness! I'm so ready for Spring. I'm sure lots of good things are coming!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Here is our Christmas card for this year. The back didn't turn out the best. Oh well! We had a crazy year! I'm so excited to see what this new year brings! 2016 is going to be great!

New Year's Eve we ended up eating at Denny's and then going to our friends the Willdens to play some games! We put the kids to bed and then Robert and I watched a movie. We barely made it until midnight! I was soooo ready for bed! I'm so excited for everything that 2016 will bring!
