Over 4th of July weekend we went to Florida to see my Dad, Step-Mom, and Grandparents. We flew out on Thursday the 2nd. The day turned into be quite an adventure. We were headed to our gate and since we had the stroller we took the elevator, we got on with 2 other people, pushed the button to go one floor up and got stuck. We were stuck on there for about 20 mins. The other people were flying to Cancun and almost missed their flight. Thankfully we weren't stuck for longer. Then, it turns out our flight was quite the adventure. We were getting close to Orlando and I felt like we should have already been there. Finally the pilot came on and said we had been circling Orlando for 30 minutes but couldn't land because of thunderstorms in the area. We kept circling for a little longer and then they announced that we had to fly to Jacksonville and refuel. We were in Jacksonville for about an hour and then flew back to Orlando. We landed about 2 hours late in Orlando. We were glad to be there.
At the hotel the night before!
The next day we headed to the zoo in Jacksonville. Emma had so much fun and even Jakob was excited to see some of the animals.
The carousel was a hit!
Emma and her cheetahs. She is obsessed with them. The first time we walked by we couldn't see any so we went back at the end and we were able to see two one walking around and one laying down.
So happy!
The 4th of July!
We started out the day by heading to the beach and we had the best time! The kids loved the water and the sand. It was beautiful. Not too hot and so sunny!
Robert and I took a nice little walk around my Dad's condo.
So pretty!
After the beach Emma, Becky, and I went and did a little shopping. Then we grilled hamburgers and hotdogs for dinner. After dinner Robert and I took a little walk around the condos. A beautiful evening! Then we chased down some fireworks in downtown St. Augustine. We watched them right from the car and then got out quick to avoid major traffic.
On Sunday we went swimming at the pool and then went to see Grandma Joyce and Grandpa Harry. Jakob loved Grandma!
